The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the salary information from last night’s WEC 50 event from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV and  Bantamweight  Scott Jorgensen,  earned an event-high $25,000 for his unanimous decision victory over Brad Pickett.  Jorgensen earned more then the division’s current champion, Dominick Cruz, who took home $22,000 for his successful title defense against Joseph Benavidez who made $17,500 for his efforts.

Danny Castillo earned $19,000 for his victory over Dustin Poirier and was the third-highest paid fighter even though he competed in the prelims. The aforementioned Benavidez came in next on the list with a salary

The total base payroll for the event was $221,500, not including the extra $40,000 that the promotion handed out in for Fight of the Night, Knockout of the Night and Submission of the Night bonuses.

WEC General Manager Reed Harrris handed a $10,000 bonus to each of the following fighters; Maciej Jewtuszko (“Knockout of the Night”), Anthony Pettis (“Submission of the Night”), Scott Jorgensen and Brad Pickett (“Fight of the Night”).
